Diving into an Unique Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character on a Quest to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have encountered a variety of entertaining independent titles. But, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer lets you play a protagonist that is literally a turd attempting to navigate to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is simple: press a single jump button. In numerous challenges, you'll face mini-bosses and access a shop to acquire skins for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions with caution, since one wrong move requires restarting the level. Leap off air pockets to propel yourself higher, navigate disappearing ledges, and activate triggers to reveal secret routes. Gather UN-KOINS for buying tougher game content in which things gets crazy.

Graphically, the demo features eye-catching stages and catchy soundtrack. Its minimalist art of shifting basic polygons evokes memories of fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's hard to think of other games where you are a coiled turd, video games frequently included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can create throwables from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as plant food. Unsurprisingly, this theme appears heavily in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy premise, Unko Technica has already received impressive recognition, including taking top honors at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. The demo is ready at present on Steam, with the complete version planned to launch on PC this November.
