England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
